About Nutrition Sciences

A scientific program that focuses on the utilization of food for human growth and metabolism, in both normal and dysfunctional states, from the interdisciplinary perspective of the agricultural, human, biological, and biomedical sciences. Includes instruction in food science, biochemistry, physiology, dietetics, food and nutrition studies, biotechnology, biophysics, and the clinical sciences.

For all the 1,517 degrees granted in Nutrition Sciences annually, the majority of them are Masters degree. Out of the 138 students earning degrees at the Postbaccalaureate certificate level in the US, 84% percent identify as women and 16% percent identify as men. Though students at schools all over the country study Nutrition Sciences, California has the most graduates.
