Does your city have a CollegeFest? Three major cities – Rochester, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Boston, MA – have their own CollegeFests available for their students, but each one is very different! We outlined what you can expect at these events and why you should definitely plan to go to your city’s CollegeFest this year.
CollegeFest Celebrations
At the moment, there are three different official CollegeFests available in Rochester, Philadelphia, and Boston.
1. CollegeFest Boston
CollegeFest Boston takes place at Fenway Park and is presented by Army ROTC. 2023 is the 36th annual and will be happening on October 1st.
Only open to current college students with a college ID, students can interact with famous brands such as Monster Energy, Citizens, LesserEvil, DoorDash, and others. Those who attend can win prizes, collect plenty of SWAG, and take part in a variety of giveaways.
Students are also invited to the CollegeFest game night on September 26th, 2023 where the Boston Red Sox will be facing off against the Tampa Bay Rays. Purchasing through the MLB.com website, too, can get you a crop top or tank top Red Sox College Fest jersey!
2. CollegeFest Philly
Philadelphia’s own CollegeFest has been running for over 20 years. 2023’s event takes place on September 9th and 10th and students can take advantage of a number of benefits! They’ll have free access to over 30 museums and other things to do around the city such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Philadelphia Zoo.
Students will also have access to free SEPTA transportation over the weekend and be able to attend the Campus Philly Block Party where they can win prizes, college swag, free food, and more. Some of the brands that will be attending CollegeFest in 2023 include Citizens, Dunkin’, IKEA, and Five Below!
3. CollegeFEST Rochester
CollegeFEST in Rochester is a fairly new event – 2023 is only its 3rd year! The event is for current Rochester students and recent graduates who want to connect with some of the region’s employers. In fact, for the 2023 event on September 23rd, over 200 employers and vendors will be in attendance! Some of the vendors and sponsors include Rochester Regional Health, Wegmans, the University of Rochester, SUNY Brockport, Veterans Connect, and many others.
Students can also participate in a number of activities during the event. There will be food trucks, a giant light bright, scavenger hunts, art stands, music, VR, a gaming lounge, a zoo mobile from the Seneca Park Zoo, a mechanical bull, laser tag, and so much more.
How to Find Your Own City’s College Events?
Every city is different when it comes to offering events for college students! Many campuses run their own events such as career fairs, music festivals, and art fairs. To keep up to date on the latest offerings at your college or city, make sure to check your school’s calendar or the event page on your city’s website!
CollegeFest events are a great way to connect with potential employers in your area, but if your city doesn’t have one of these events, there are other ways! We recommend attending career fairs, but you can also use College Raptor’s Career Finder to identify some of the best jobs out there for you. It’s completely free, too! Find it here.
