College Raptor’s Newest $2,500 Scholarship Winner Selected
Iowa City, IA — College Raptor announced its latest $2,500 award recipient as part of its ongoing Scholarship Program. Following a detailed review process, College Raptor selected Jonathan Hogan from Murphy High School in Murphy, NC as the winner.
College Raptor helps students and families discover great college matches and brings cost transparency to the search process. “College Raptor was a tremendous help in my search for the right college. After talking with financial aid offices, the numbers, both net price and expected out-of-pocket costs were very accurate” said Jonathan. “The cost of college is important, and if you don’t understand the ins-and-outs of paying for education, it isn’t hard to get lost. Without College Raptor showing me breakdowns of cost, I don’t think I could have come to the conclusion that I did.”
While Mr. Hogan’s final decision was difficult, he eventually selected Western Carolina University to further his education. Jonathan states “my acceptance into WCU’s Honors College was the final factor in making my decision. Being in an advanced program will help prepare me for what lies ahead and will challenge me to better myself each and every day.” While on the Cullowhee, NC campus, he plans to become immediately active in first-year student activities to help him acclimate to his new home. Jonathan will continue fueling his passion for health care through advanced studies in the sciences which will help him reach his ultimate goal of becoming an interventional cardiologist.
