Ted and Holly Rollins are philanthropists who believe in helping passionate, hardworking youth pay for college. This scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who write the most compelling 500-word essay regarding their life story, intended field of study, career, and how they specifically will make an impact on the world.

2. NEW HEIGHTS SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $2,500

Deadline: June 4

The New Heights Scholarship is available to high school seniors or current college students intending to transfer to a four-year university. Applicants must have or earn a high school diploma in the current year. To apply, write a 500-1,000 word essay answering the prompt: “Please map out the path that YOU see yourself taking through college to your chosen field. If you’re unsure, tell us nonetheless – what would you like to do, and why?”

3. STUCK AT PROM SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline: June 5

If you have a love for fashion, you could win up to $15,000 by submitting the most impressive prom dress and tuxedo designs, made entirely from duct tape. To apply, you must create and wear your original prom attire using Duck Brand Duct Tape and/or Duck Brand Crafting Tape. Don’t forget to take pictures!

4. THE RYAN J. GIBBS BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: June 7

If you are a second, third, or fourth year undergraduate pursuing business, you can win up to $1,000 by submitting an essay answering the following business-related prompt: “How does tax policy impact real estate value?” The essay must not exceed 15 pages and must use 12-point font size, Times New Roman font, page numbers, and be single-spaced.

5. DESIRE TO INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: Up to $1,500

Deadline: June 9

The Desire To Inspire Scholarship is open to any high school junior or senior who is a member of one or more of the following minority racial or ethnic groups: Black/African-American, Native American, and/or Latino-American. Applicants must be interested in a career in healthcare and have a determined effort to inspire others in some way, shape, or form.

6. ATLAS SHRUGGED ESSAY CONTEST

Award Amount: Multiple awards up to $25,000

Deadline: June 14

Atlas Shrugged is a remarkable story about a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world. (Spoiler alert: He did!) The Ayn Rand Institute is offering the Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest for any high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who are passionate about reading, writing, and analyzing Ayn Rand’s novel, Atlas Shrugged. Applicants must write an essay between 800 – 1,600 words, discussing an aspect or plot point of the novel. Nine prizes will be awarded, including a grand prize of $25,000.

7. ONE EARTH FILM FESTIVAL YOUNG FILMMAKERS CONTEST

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: June 25

This contest is open to students from third grade through college. Film submissions should focus on one or more of the following topics: water, waste, food, transportation, energy, open space, and ecosystems. Entries must be between three and eight minutes in length, with one winner in each of the categories.
