The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program

Amount: $2,500

The Western Union Foundation offers the Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides support to young individuals who want to pursue post-secondary education. The eligibility criteria require students to be pursuing an undergraduate degree (from an accredited college) in business, entrepreneurship, technology, mathematics, technology or science. You must submit your academic transcript and letters of recommendation.

The scholarship judges applications based on perseverance, aspiration, and community — the three pillars of the foundation. Selected students will be eligible to receive $2,500 to pay for their tuition.

The WIIT Charitable Trust Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,500

Deadline: April 1; October 1 

The Women in International Trade Trust runs the WIIT Charitable Trust scholarship program. Designed specifically for women, the scholarship provides educational opportunities to women in the field.

It provides 2 scholarships worth $1,500 each, one to an undergraduate and one to a graduate female student. Current students or students already accepted to an accredited U.S. university may apply. Students must exhibit a keen interest in international business, trade, economics, and other similar subjects. The scholarship asks for an essay, as well as your transcript and your acceptance letter to your specific school.

The selection is based on the quality of the essay assigned to the student and the interest demonstrated in the above-mentioned subjects.

World Trade Week Scholarship

Deadline: March 

For both high schoolers and undergraduate students, the World Trade Week Scholarship awards students pursuing a career in international trade or getting a degree in an international major. Interested must attend a school in California and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Additionally, applicants must submit an essay responding to one of two prompts and two letters of recommendation. Applying students may potentially mentor future candidates when the student becomes a professional.

The Marjorie M. Shostak Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Varies

California State University sponsors the Marjorie M. Shostak Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in international business, political science, or economics. It is open for sophomores, juniors and seniors to apply for, provided they are U.S. citizens or residents.

Students are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 5.0 scale to be eligible for this $1,000 award.

The Malcolm Baldridge Scholarship Award

Amount: $2,000—$4,000

Deadline: March 15 (for new applicants); February 15 (for renewal)

The Malcolm Baldridge Scholarship Award is also a merit-based scholarship for studies who are either majoring in, or concentrating on studying international business, manufacturing and/or trade. It is managed by the Connecticut Community Foundation.

Freshmen, sophomores, college juniors, and seniors can apply for this scholarship which is awarded to a single individual each year and is worth between $2,000–$4,000.
