BBB of Delaware Student Ethics Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: TBD for 2021

For college-bound Delaware seniors that personify high ethics and demonstrate leadership skills, this scholarship offers financial aid. This Ethics scholarship seeks to encourage personal integrity, academic excellence, and community service through the award.

To be eligible, students must: be a high school student planning on attending an accredited college/university, be nominated/sponsored by someone working for a BBB accredited business, be a resident of Delaware, supply their most recent high school transcript, have a GPA minimum of 3.0, provide two letters of reference, and write an essay.

Christa McAuliffe Teacher Incentive Program

Amount: Varies (renewable)

Deadline: June 5, 2020

There is a shortage of specialized teachers and this program seeks to combat that fact. With priority given to students who seek to gain a teaching certificate in the subjects/areas considered to have a shortage, this renewable scholarship targets undergraduate students.

To apply, students must: have Delaware and US residency, count as a full-time student enrolled at a Delaware college/university, work towards a teaching certificate, rank in the upper half of their class as high school seniors or have at least a 2.75 as an undergraduate, and have a minimum combined score of 1570 on their SAT.

Herman M. Holloway, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Full tuition

Deadline: TBD for 2021

In honor of the first African American State Senator in Delaware, the Herman M. Holloway, Sr. Memorial Scholarship covers a student’s full tuition and other fees at Delaware State University.

To apply, students must: have at least a 3.0 GPA, have Delaware residency, at least a score of 1000 on the SAT (or the ACT equivalent), file the FAFSA, and maintain their 3.0 GPA throughout college.

Wilmington Women in Business Fresh Start Scholarship

Amount: Varies

Deadline: May 15, 2020

This unique scholarship offers both financial aid and mentorship to young women who wish to improve their lives through education. Regardless of race, religion, creed, or background, this opportunity is all about helping educate women.

To be eligible, students must: be a woman, be a US citizen or permanent resident, be at least 20 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, have taken a two-year break in their education (whether right after high school or sometime during their post-secondary education), be enrolled in an accredited Delaware college/university, be recommended by a social service agent or college representative, have at least a C average, and demonstrate financial need.

Diamond State Scholarship

Amount: $1,250 (renewable)

Deadline: TBD for 2021

This statewide scholarship is all about academic excellence. Delaware students who rank in the upper quarter of their class should take a closer look at this opportunity. Every academic year, a student receives $1,250, provided the student remains eligible.

Eligible students must: have Delaware residency, have a combined score of at least 1800 on the SAT, enroll full-time at a nonprofit institution.

And remember, universities and colleges often offer their own unique scholarships to students attending their schools, so don’t forget to search for those as well!
