Known as “the Garden State”, New Jersey is a place full of history. New Jersey was invaluable during both the American and Industrial revolutions. Their state motto is, fittingly, “Liberty and prosperity”. If you live or plan to attend college there, here are a few New Jersey scholarships.

Builders League of South Jersey Scholarship Foundation

Amount: Up to $3,500 (renewable)

Deadline: April 24, 2020

Are you either living in or attending school in southern New Jersey? Are you also pursuing fields related to real estate development and construction? Then apply to this great financial aid opportunity. Related fields can include plumbing and heating technology, electrical, carpentry, surveying, and many more.

To be eligible, students must meet a few requirements. First, students are enrolled in an accredited institution. Second, they’re majoring in a relevant field. Finally, students live in/attend school in one of the following counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, or Salem.

Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship

Amount: Up to $10,000 (renewable)

Deadline: April 1, 2020

Dedicated to students who have shown maturity and integrity both inside and outside of school, this scholarship is payable over four years of higher education schooling.

To apply, students must meet some requirements. First, have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Next, students need to actively participate in at least one extra-curricular activity. Following that, students are enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university within the US. Fourth, they have worked an average of 30 hours per week during the summer since age 16. Then, they must submit a short personal statement. Finally, students need to be verified by a school counselor.

Melissa Anne Centrella Scholarship Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: March 15, 2020

For New Jersey students studying Nursing, Medical Sciences, or Medical Technical fields, this scholarship offers aid. Recipients must show their care and respect for those who need their help, their academic aptitude, and volunteer work.

Eligible students must meet some requirements. For starters, students need a 3.0 GPA or higher. Second, they’re studying a relevant field. Finally, students need to write a brief essay about goals and submit a completed application.

Russell W Meyers and The Rogers Family Scholarships

Amount: $7,500

Deadline: April 1, 2020

Love the environment? Well, this one’s for you. New Jersey students entering the fields of environmental science, natural resource management, conservation, horticulture, or a number of other related fields, qualify for this scholarship.

To apply, students must first meet their requirements. First, students are a resident of New Jersey. Students are also a full-time student with at least 15 credit hours completed. Then, they must study a relevant field at an accredited college/university and consider a career in New Jersey. Finally, students need a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Governor’s Urban Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000 (renewable)

Deadline: Talk to your high school counselor

Dedicated to making college affordable and accessible, this award is given to a student within the top 5% of their class. The scholarship is renewable for four years of higher education, with a bonus for the final semester before the degree is acquired.

To be eligible, students must meet these requirements. First, have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Second, students must reside in one of the communities specified on their site. Finally, they are in the top 5% of their class.
