Connor Porter Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: May 1, 2020

The Connor Porter Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Connor Porter, as well as his father, Pat Porter. The scholarship awards two high school student-athletes involved in fencing every year. Students interested must be a member of USA Fencing and submit a letter of recommendation. Students also need to submit an essay based on the current year’s prompt. 

The Lead Roster B2B Sales & Marketing Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: December 15

High school students interested in the field of sales and marketing can apply in the Lead Roster B2B Sales and Marketing Scholarship. This is a highly competitive award that judge applicants depending on the ability to market and sell ideas.

Students who want to apply for the scholarship should submit a publicly viewable URL of a video uploaded to YouTube. This video should present convincing, entertaining, and inspiring reasons why one deserves to win the Lead Roster scholarship. The deadline for applications is every December of each year. The successful students with a business leader’s attitude are given $1,000 under this scholarship program.

Furman Scholars Program

Amount: At least $20,000

Deadline: April 1, 2020

The Furman Scholars Program wants to honor high school juniors who demonstrate great academic and leadership ability, as well as involvement in their local community. Unlike many other scholarships, a high school counselor must nominate a student. If a student wins, they receive at least $20,000 of institutional aid if they decide to attend Furman University. 

Interested students must have at least a 3.5 GPA, 1360 on the SAT or PSAT, or 29 on the ACT or Aspire.

GoTranscript Academic Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: Year-round 

The GoTranscript Academic Scholarship Program is open to high school students or current full-time college freshmen. The scholarship requires 2 essays. The first essay should be an introduction of oneself as well as the academic or career short term and long term goals. This includes (1) valuable lessons learned from different experiences such as community service, volunteer work, family, etc. and (2) any meaningful achievements and their relationship to your field and goals. 

The second essay should be 500 to 1,000 words that share a story on how language helped in expressing one’s voice. Applications are accepted all year round. 

$1,000 College JumpStart Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 15, 2020

The $1,000 College JumpStart Scholarship recognizes students committed to using education as a tool for a better life, family, and community. This program is an annual merit-based competition open to high school and adult students.

The online application includes a required personal statement. Students can use their  College JumpStart Scholarship awards for tuition, room, books, or any educational expenses.

Abbey Road Green Ticket Scholarship

Amount: $500

Deadline: December 1

Students committed to the environment and local communities can apply for The Abbey Road Green Ticket Scholarship. This is designed to reward students with various partial summer fellowships and scholarships annually to their summer programs.

Applicants who showed compassion through school work and extracurricular activities in the field of environmental issues, wildlife, agriculture, and local service projects are eligible for this program. 

ALBA George Watt Memorial Essay Contest

Amount: $250

Deadline: July 1, 2020

Established in 1998, the ALBA George Watt Memorial Essay Contest honors writer and lifelong activist, Lincoln vet George Watt. This annual essay competition invites students, both undergraduate and graduate studies, from all over the world to submit essays about several aspects of Spanish history. The submitted entries should be in original form, good quality, and should present effective arguments and presentations. The chosen winners for the two categories of ALBA Memorial Essay Contest will be awarded the amount of $250 each.
