Celebrity Scholarship
Amount: $500
Deadline: March 31, 2020
Has anyone told you that you look exactly like that one celebrity? Well, even if no one has, you can still potentially win this scholarship! Students must impersonate a celebrity to the best of their ability. That includes using props, backgrounds, costumes, and generally embodying a celebrity.
Interested students must submit a photo or video of themselves impersonating a celebrity. Additionally, students must include a rationale.
National Marbles Tournament Scholarships
Amount: $1,000; $2,000
Deadline: Awarded after competition
When it comes to these scholarships, you really don’t want to lose your marbles. There are two scholarships hosted by the National Marbles Tournament—the National Champion and Sportsman scholarships. Each year one girl and one boy is named the King or Queen of Marbles over the course of four days of marble matches.
To be eligible, students must be ages 8–14 and be the regional champion. Additionally, the NMT invites eligible students, and be dedicated mibsters (marble shooters) are considered.
Alice Mcarver Ratchford Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Deadline: Awarded by financial aid office
Sometimes scholarships surprise applicants in their specificity. The randomness causes a person to wonder what the circumstances were for the interesting scholarship to be created. In the requirements for this scholarship for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the applying student must check off an odd list. However, for those who meet the requirements, this could be the ideal scholarship for you.
The student applying must be a woman, be single, not own a car, live on campus, never have been married, be an undergraduate, and have no other scholarships.
NIRA Scholarships
Amount: $500; $1,000
Deadline: Awarded in June annually
Many scholarships target a specific skill. This skill can either be common or extremely rare and specific. In this case, if rodeo is in your blood, this scholarship is for you. Additionally, students who rodeo definitely need to check out the multitude of scholarships from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. There’s a scholarship for just about every rodeo event. Events include Bareback Riding, Tie Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Steer Wrestling. Furthermore, other events include Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Bull Riding, and even more.
To be eligible, students compete on the collegiate level and be a NIRA member.
