“Biomedical Sciences” covers quite a bit of ground. For example, medical microbiology, virology, biomedical engineering, and genetic epidemiology, to name a few. If it’s an applied science that has a basis in healthcare or public health, you’re likely in a biomedical field. Many undergraduates pursuing this Bachelor’s degree likely have to go on to graduate-level studies. Therefore, it is vital to find biomedical science scholarships to assist with tuition.

Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation Scholarship (SMART)
Award: Full-Tuition
Deadline: December 1 @ 5PM EST Annually
If you’ve ever hoped to work with the Department of Defense and/or acquire plenty of research experience, this is the scholarship for you. It provides full-tuition for the time it takes you to acquire your specific degree(s). Typically, that means for 1 to 5 years.
The trade-off is committing yourself to work with the Department of Defense after graduation. For every year the government provided tuition, you must work one year as a civilian employee for the DoD. In addition to this, participants who receive this award multiple years will spend their summers interning with DoD laboratories doing research. However, the application process is a bit longer than most. For example, you’ll have to go through a background check. It’s in your best interest to start early.
