Scholarships for Tennis Players

Over the past decade, tennis has rebounded in popularity to become one of the most played sports among students. Because of the visibility of superstars like Roger Federer and Venus & Serena Williams, tennis has become a cultural touchstone for millennials. Additionally, recent statistics show that over 1,000 NCAA colleges dole out tennis scholarships. The average Division I award gives student-athletes over $15,000 annually.

Tennis Scholarships

While a majority of scholarships are institution-specific, one organization, in particular, strives to be broader. They give tennis-playing student-athletes a chance to apply for multiple scholarships at once. The USTA (United States Tennis Association) Foundation gives out thousands of dollars in scholarships each year. Additionally, the entire USTA is a non-profit, meaning they donate 100% of their money to various tennis-related programs.
