7 Scholarships for Students in Missouri

Searching for scholarships can take a lot of time. Thus, we’re sorting through the billions of dollars worth of award money for you! Here are a few Missouri scholarships you should apply for if you’re a student there:

1. Missouri Mayflower Society Scholarship

Amount: Varies

Deadline: TBD for 2021

This scholarship is open to high school seniors who are Missouri residents and U.S. citizens, and who are also planning on attending an institution of higher learning in the fall. This award has an essay component related to the Mayflower and pilgrims. Applicants must also provide a current transcript, resume, and two letters of recommendation.

2. Missouri Public Service Survivor Grant Program

Amount: Tuition

Deadline: No deadline

These grants award children of pubic safety officers or Missouri DOT employees who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. In order to be eligible, the student must also be accepted or enrolled as an undergraduate at a participating Missouri post-secondary school.

3. Community Foundation of the Ozarks Scholarship Program

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: Varies

Multiple awards are available through this program. These scholarships are need-based and require that you file the FAFSA. Eligibility will be determined based on your estimated family contribution (EFC).

4. Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 1, 2020

The Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program helps students afford their college tuition and other educational expenses. The program gives awards based on a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which they find via the student’s FAFSA. To qualify, students must have Missouri residency, have an EFC of less than $12,000, and currently attending a college in Missouri (students seeking a degree in theology or divinity do not qualify).

5. Carson Scholars Fund, Inc.

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: TBD for 2021

These awards are available to students in grades 4-11. Eligible students excel academically and also participate in community service activities. Students must be nominated by their school to be able to compete. The requirements include at least a 3.75 GPA and also involved in community service.

6. Come 2 Iowa (C2IA) Senior Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 15, 2020

The scholarship grants two awards each year to high school seniors who participate in two online financial literacy tutorials from Iowa Student Loan. After completing the tutorials an assessment is given. The scholarship awards the top two scorers $1,000. In the case of a tie, a short essay may also be required.

7. Greater St. Louis Mothers of Twins Club Mary Joan Wolf Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: TBD for 2021

If you’re from the greater St. Louis area and have a twin, this is the scholarship for you! The scholarship awards two students. Applicants must be from the St. Louis, MO-IL metropolitan areas (i.e., St. Louis and Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, St. Louis, Warren, Washington, or Crawford counties in Missouri, or Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, or St. Clair counties in IL).
