To make it easy, we’ve compiled a list of 9 scholarships that are due in February. This is not an exhaustive list of scholarships but it’s a great place to start. Taking the time to apply for scholarships at the beginning of the year could mean less financial stress later. Good luck!

1. ROOTHBERT FUND SCHOLARSHIP

Amount Awarded : $5,000-$7,000

Deadline: February 1

This is open to undergraduate or graduate students who are motivated by spiritual values. While applicants from all over the U.S. can apply, preference is given to those living or studying in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. To apply, you’ll need to submit an application form, an official transcript, three autobiographical essays, and three letters of recommendation. If you are selected as a recipient, you will need to maintain good grades, stay connected with the Roothbert Fund, and attend an annual weekend retreat at Pendle Hill—a Quaker study center near Philadelphia.

2. BULK OFFICE SUPPLY SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: February 1

This is open to all high school students and college freshmen or sophomores pursuing careers in teaching or art, or those starting their own business. The application is simple and requires a 600-word essay that discusses all of the following:

  • Where you plan to attend school
  • Your intended major
  • How you became interested in teaching, art, or your business idea
  • How this scholarship will help you achieve your goals

3. SKIN GRIP DIABETES SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: February 3

This scholarship is awarded to recognize the resilience of 25 students living with diabetes. To apply, submit a two-minute video (with background music) explaining how you live fearlessly with diabetes. You must be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student.

4. HARRY S. TRUMAN SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $30,000

Deadline: February 4

With only 55-65 students winning each year, the Harry S Truman scholarship is highly competitive. However, regardless of the outcome, the application process can still be considered of great value. You’ll identify your goals, get better at writing, make friends, and build strong connections with teachers and mentors. To apply, you must be a U.S. student in your second to last year of college, be nominated by your school, and plan to go to grad school for a public service career.

5. SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS EMERGING FIRST YEAR SCHOLARS

 Award Amount: Varies

Deadline: Application opens February 10

This scholarship is for incoming freshmen women who are pursuing a degree in engineering. Up until the application opens on February 10th, you will only be able to submit an interest form. You will then be notified via email when you can apply for the scholarship. To be eligible, you must be admitted to an ABET-accredited program, have at least a 3.5 high school GPA (or 3.0 college GPA), and provide a current transcript.

6. ARTS FOR LIFE! SCHOLARSHIP

 Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: February 11

Arts for Life! celebrates the creativity of 25 Florida high school seniors each year! If you have a talent in creative writing, dance, drama, music, or visual arts, you could be a winner. To apply, choose from a creative category, fill out the form, and upload your essay.

7. DAVIDSON FELLOWS SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $25,000-$100,000

Deadline: February 13

This is for gifted and high-achieving students who can showcase a significant project that shows a depth of knowledge in their particular field of study. To apply, you must provide a brief description of your portfolio/project to confirm eligibility. You’ll then submit your nominators’ information, send them their forms, and upload all required materials. If selected, applicants must be able to attend the awards reception in Washington, D.C., and the Davidson Institute will pay for travel and lodging expenses.

8. ETHAN TO SCHOLARSHIP

 Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: February 16

If you’re a low-income undergraduate or graduate student studying psychology or counseling, you may be eligible to win this scholarship. Mental health challenges can make higher education feel overwhelming, but this scholarship believes your passion for helping others deserves recognition. This is your chance to share your story. Apply with an essay that answers the following prompt: Write about why you chose this career path, what your future goals are, and what experience you have in the mental health field.

9. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: Up to $6,000

Deadline: February 21

This scholarship supports BIPOC students in California who are pursuing careers in a teaching-related field including counseling, therapy, or nursing within public education. To apply, you’ll need to be enrolled in an accredited institution for the 2025 summer or fall semester. You also must be an active member of the CTA, CTA-AE, or a dependent of an active, retired, or deceased CTA member.
