1. WEALTH BY HEALTH STEPS FOR CHANGE SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: Up to $8,000

Deadline: May 1

This scholarship is open to all high school seniors. Applicants must complete the application, answering questions regarding their academic history, school and community activities, plus six short answer questions. An essay must also be completed by answering the prompt, “Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development.”

2. LM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Award Amount: $500

Deadline: May 1

Leavitt Machinery is offering this scholarship to any student who will be enrolled or is enrolled in a 2-year degree program or greater. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be a US or Canadian resident. Applicants are to submit an essay answering the following prompt: “Write an essay about a situation you have been involved in or someone you know has been involved in where better safety procedures would have prevented an injury. Explain in detail what safety procedures you believe should have been in place to prevent the injury and how they would have prevented the injury.”

3. BRIGHTSPROUT CROSSWORD SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 3

The BrightSprout Crossword is for any current or upcoming undergraduate student enrolled for the fall of 2024. Applicants are asked to create one 15×15 newspaper-style crossword puzzle on My Crossword Maker focusing on a topic they’re passionate about.

4. NURSE CORPS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline: May 2

The Nurse Corps is providing scholarships to 225 nursing students in exchange for a minimum two-year commitment at healthcare facilities facing critical nurse shortages. Recipients will receive a monthly stipend to spend on tuition, eligible fees, and other school-related expenses. To apply, students must be enrolled in an eligible nursing program in the US including:

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Graduate-level nurse practitioner
  • Graduate-level advanced registered nurse

5. MOMETRIX COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS CONTEST

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 12

To apply for the college scholarship, applicants are required to submit an essay of no more than 2,000 words detailing who they are and their college plans. The first-place winner receives $1,000, the second-place winner receives $500, and the third-place winner can choose between a three-month subscription to one of Mometrix’s online courses or a Secrets Study Guide along with a Flashcard Study System of their choice.

6. CHIU “REVIEW IT” SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 15

The Review It Scholarship is awarded to the student who submits the best movie review before the deadline. Eligibility requires attending or planning to attend a US college or university, maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and students may be enrolled in any field of study.

7. GENERATION GOOGLE SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $10,000

Deadline: May 19

Google’s Generation Google Scholarship is awarded to aspiring computer scientists and engineers. It aims to increase diversity in the tech industry by encouraging applicants from all backgrounds and minority groups. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and can be a high school senior through postgraduate. The application consists of three short answer questions for students to showcase their passion for technology, highlight community involvement, and display leadership skills.

8. C.I.P. (COLLEGE IS POWER) SCHOLARSHIP

Award Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 31

This scholarship is open to students 17 or older who plan to start college within the next 12 months. Applicants must complete a short application and give a brief statement of 150 words or less that answers the question: “What is your primary goal for going to school?”

9. AEL COLLEGIATE ESSAY CONTEST

Award Amount: Up to $2,500

Deadline: May 31

This scholarship is open to current undergraduate college students who will write an essay answering the prompt: “We are a nation rich in diversity of all types. Please discuss how this diversity contributes to American life.” The essay guidelines require a minimum of five pages and a maximum of eight pages (approximately 1,500-2,000 words) with cited sources in MLA or Chicago formatting. This is an academic paper and cited sources are expected.
