First Opportunity Scholarship
First Opportunity Scholarships are awarded to beginning first-year students who have been admitted to the University. Recipients must graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA and an ACT score of at least 20 or SAT score of 950(Qualifying score for exams taken prior to March 2016) or 1040(Composite for Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math Scores). This scholarship will be automatically renewed each year up to a maximum of four years if the recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completes a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. Students must maintain a full-time YSU enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
