The University of Chicago has both a police department (UCPD) and the Department of Safety and Security on campus. Both located at 6054 South Drexel Ave, they provide daily crime and fire logs to the community and are active both on campus and in Chicago.

The UCPD is happy to offer safety presentations to the school and the surrounding Chicago area. They also regularly patrol the campus on a 24/7 basis.

The Department of Safety and Security provides regular updates on travel, parking, traffic, and more on their website. Students can visit the department for tips on staying safe, bike registration, and laptop security.
